From Software Development to Quality Assurance: William’s Journey

Discovering a passion for quality

William joined Doxabeta through a software development placement, looking to gain practical experience and understand how digital products are built in real working environments.

As he became more involved in projects, one area began to stand out: developing and testing web applications.

He became increasingly interested not only in whether something worked, but in how well it worked, where problems might appear and how the user experience could be improved.

That interest became the foundation for his progression into quality assurance.

Learning through practical delivery

The placement also helped William become more confident working with others and explaining his thinking.

He learned to approach problems methodically, test assumptions and communicate issues clearly — skills that are central to effective QA work.

Real projects gave him something that classroom learning alone could not: practical situations where quality, accuracy and user experience mattered.

Progressing into quality assurance

William later progressed into a QA Tester role at T-Skill.

What began as a broader software-development experience helped him identify a specific part of the technology lifecycle that matched his interests and strengths.
